Description
Not only does this wonderful hideaway cottage offer privacy, tranquillity and the convenience of all amenities being close at hand but from its privileged, elevated position also boasts the most striking panoramic sea views from the pool and terraces. Simply put, the views from here are amongst the best we have come across in Mallorca.
Skirting the edge of Pollenca and dominating the west coast of the island, the Tramuntana Mountains are one of Mallorca's most emblematic sights and it is here, nestled in the wooded hillside of the Ca'n Bosc Valley, that one finds Baldregat in what is, without doubt, a unique location.
Looked after with care and great pride, Baldregat provides the perfect retreat for a small party or a couple seeking a spacious, well equipped holiday base in which to relax and enjoy the best of both worlds.
Essentially rural it is still only 4.5km to the Roman town of Pollenca where all amenities including a colourful Sunday market and some of the island's best restaurants can be found. From the long, covered front terrace you step into an open plan living/dining room which is both welcoming and well furnished with the added benefit of air conditioning.
To one side, the beautifully tiled kitchen has oak fronted units and a range of modern equipment that includes a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, integrated dishwasher and a fridge freezer with digital temperature control.
Landscaped grounds sit to one side of the house but it is in the large oval pool and on the spacious terraces where most holiday time will surely be spent. It is from these vantage points that the superlative views across to the monastery atop the Puig de Maria, the entire Bay of Pollenca including the Formentor and Cabo Pinar peninsulae, the Boquer and Cala Sant Vicenc valleys and, on the clearest days even as far as Menorca, can be enjoyed at their best.
Surrounded by densely wooded hillside of holm oaks, olive and carob trees Baldregat also has an immensely impressive backdrop of soaring mountainside where birds of prey such as eagles and hawks regularly circle and swoop around the rockface.
A renowned stop-off point on migratory routes, the birdwatchers paradise of Albufera National Park is not far away on the lowlands with species such as terns, warblers, kestrels and ospreys as well as herons and cranes regularly visiting. The sweeping sandy beach of Pollenca Bay, and the coves at Cala Sant Vicenc are each a fifteen minute drive while the golf course is just 7.5 kms away. Ramblers have the added attraction of good walking in the mountains... on their doorstep!

Each of the air conditioned bedrooms has its own bath or shower room. The en-suite to the double bedroom is much larger than average with eye-catching fittings and a separate shower cubicle in addition to the bath and twin washbasins. Serving the twin bedroom, the shower room to the rear of Baldregat is particularly atmospheric having been built directly into the hillside allowing one entire wall to be formed from the natural mountain rock.
